Record note
GO.Exchange was a separate Omise Holdings subsidiary. Omise Holdings described the exchange as internally incubated from summer 2018 and independent from OmiseGO/OMG Network. Public launch material appeared in June 2019 after an earlier soft-launch period. Malta is recorded as the intended operating/regulatory base: contemporary reporting says Omise had incorporated in Malta and intended to launch GO.Exchange from there, while the exchange later said it abandoned its Maltese licensing effort because increasing regulatory complexity and uncertainty changed the cost/benefit analysis. HEI does not claim that a Maltese exchange license was granted. On 2020-01-30 the venue stopped new customers, deposits and exchange trading but continued withdrawals until the announced terminal deadline of 2020-03-15 23:00 UTC. No hack or enforcement action is inferred.
