Crypto-asset wallet and trading service combining lending, custodial account and wallet functions, crypto-to-crypto swapping, card purchase access, and a project model that describes smart-contract-based permissionless finance. After account-level transfer and withdrawal restrictions began in August 2026, Japan's Financial Services Agency published a warning concerning Izakaya Limited on 2026-09-01. On 2026-09-17 IZAKA-YA announced that service for all Japan residents and Japanese nationals living abroad would end, with new registrations and new lending stopped for affected users and a withdrawal-only process remaining available. HEI therefore classifies the exchange service as limited rather than globally dead.

IZAKA-YA published a collaboration campaign requiring users to register with both services, link IZAKA-YA with CryptoPanda, and complete a CryptoPanda transaction connected to an IZAKA-YA wallet.
IZAKA-YA stated that ordinary lending and in-platform swap services remain usable without identity verification while KYC is required for campaign participation.
IZAKA-YA stated that suspected illicit-fund inflows or money-laundering signals had been identified in some transactions and that affected accounts were temporarily restricted from transfers and withdrawals while being investigated. The operator stated that this was not a uniform platform-wide halt and that ordinary transfers and withdrawals could also take longer during enhanced monitoring.
CryptoPanda announced that it had ended its partnership with IZAKA-YA and that transactions through IZAKA-YA wallet connections would no longer be available, removing a previously documented linked-service transaction route.
IZAKA-YA stated that no platform-wide transfer or withdrawal halt was in place, that transfers had been made to some customers whose reviews were completed on 2026-08-25, and that additional cases continued to be processed after individual checks.
Japan's Financial Services Agency published that it had issued a warning to Izakaya Limited concerning unregistered crypto-asset exchange business in Japan.
IZAKA-YA stated that some customer withdrawals and transfers remained subject to additional KYC, transaction-history, destination-address, source-of-funds and related compliance checks, while again saying that withdrawals were not uniformly stopped for all customers.
IZAKA-YA announced that service would end for all customers residing in Japan regardless of nationality and for Japanese nationals living abroad. It said new registration and new lending would stop for the affected population, the Japanese-language site would close at the end of September, and the withdrawal procedure would remain available until asset-return handling was completed.
